Juicy Facts about Philippines and Singapore (a comparison)

Hmm thought of doing this blog since I'm doing some comparisons on the back of my mind..might as well put them into writing..


1. I can say Singapore is a smoke-free country (a bit of exaggeration coz pollution also exists here it's just that they're not that visible), as for Philippines prepare yourself for the pollution almost everywhere..

2. Singapore is a nice disciplined country..(might be exaggerated as well but so far my 1 month and 2 weeks stay here, I can testify this is for real).. the government here was successful in running this country.. their economy can testify for this..I don't want to compare this to Philippines now..I do love my country it's just that there are some real stuffs there that are not worth discussing

3. Amusing fact.. Buildings in Singapore has its 13th floor tagged as 13th not 14..in Philippines 13th floor was tagged as 14th floor (because people believe there that it's kinda unlucky to have 13th floor)

4. Singaporeans are labelled as not so courteous..well there are some people who are like this but there are nice ones as well.. well for Philippines I can say we're known for being friendly, courteous, hospitable..

5. You can show your respect to people here (drivers, sales person, older person) by calling them uncle and auntie, as for Philippines respect can be shown by saying po and opo, calling a person kuya (like an older brother) or ate (older sister) , add 'ka' or 'aling' before their names

6. It's normal here in hawker stalls or fastfoods that the aunties or uncles will clean up the side of the table where you ate if they saw you done eating even if the person next to you is not finish yet, as for Philippines the crew will wait til you guys leave the table (til you guys are done eating and the tambay (chatting))

7. Traffic violations here are minimal compared to Philippines

8. I can't see any traffic here like the pile of cars in my home land

8. Road accidents here are nothing compared to the road disasters in Philippines

9. Everything in Singapore seems to come in big packages...big amount of foods..bulk items on sale

10. Being slim or should i say petite's just normal in Singapore..so I'm not feeling left out or different haha!

11. Walking in Singapore's park is so healthy... in Philippines whew prepare for the smoke..well that is if you're in Manila or city..but of course we have fresh air in the province..it's just that parks in singapore are more accessible..
